Signal & System Technik | Corporate Software Design
The company Signal & Technik GmbH (SST) develops high-end diagnostics solutions for Rail Transportation and the software that accompanies them; amongst them is the software solution CMS AT. Their international customer base includes the Deutsche Bahn in Germany, Renfe in Spain, SNCF in France as well as 34 additional Rail Corporations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Of the first projects we took on for SST was the development of an overall GUI-Design concept that composes a unified design standard for all SST software.
The interfaces of the individual Programs were taken into consideration and then optimized for their unconventional operating locations. (The old control rooms were usually dark rooms without windows.)
Over the coming years, due to usability and functional improvements, more programs were optimized and adapted to the new interface design. Consequently newly developed software can be skinned with the SST-styled design elements. What’s more is that we expanded the SST-style package to include a “Daylight” version for use in brighter rooms.
